Viasat World expands presence with Hungary launch

Channel provider Viasat World has renewed a carriage agreement with Hungarian digital-terrestrial and OTT service provider Antenna Hungária, through which its channels Viasat History, Epic Drama, Viasat Nature and Viasat Explore will be made available to more platform subscribers.

From September 6, Viasat History will join the thematic Szabadidő (Leisure) package, which will be available to an increased number of viewers.

Antenna Hungária’s OTT platform MindiGO will include a new all-in package which will feature Epic Drama, Viasat Nature and Viasat Explore, replacing the operator’s previous Epic package.

Another new SVOD package will feature the Epic Drama SVOD proposition refreshed each month.

Tamás Horváth, country manager Hungary for Viasat World, said: “Viasat World and Antenna Hungária are long-standing partners in the Hungarian market; together we have built a good understanding of what our viewers are looking for and extending the reach of our portfolio on Antenna Hungária’s platforms in this way reflects that. We look forward to more viewers enjoying the premium content we offer on our channels, as we’ve got some fantastic programming lined up.”

Gyöngyvér Gerlei, commercial director at Antenna Hungária, said: “We’re very pleased to continue our relationship with Viasat World, which as a leading content aggregator in our region brings a unique set of high-quality channels packed with award-winning content to our platforms. It’s about providing more choice for our valued viewers – about where, when and how they view. This new deal puts that front and centre, and we know the audience will be thrilled with what’s on offer.”
