TBI Talks: Exploring UK Production, Commissioning & Int’l Potential

The next instalment of TBI Talks will explore the UK’s content industry and its place on the global landscape. We have three internationally renowned execs representing the country’s best scripted and unscripted output, who will discuss how the market is changing, where the opportunities are emerging and what’s next for their companies both domestically and on the world stage.

TBI Talks is a lively, engaging and informative series of monthly online discussions with some of the biggest players from across the content business, who cut to the heart of the challenges facing the industry and provide deep insights into new growth areas.

Each session allows viewers to:

  • Find out where opportunities lie ahead
  • Hear from industry-leading analysts about changing trends and demand areas

The fantastic line-up for our next session includes:

Kate Phillips is controller of entertainment at the BBC, with responsibility for the UK public broadcaster’s entertainment strategy & output, and commissioning more than 500 hours of original programmes a year. She was previously creative director of formats for BBC Studios (fka BBC Worldwide), overseeing more than 200 scripted and non-scripted formats.

Caryn Mandabach is CEO at Caryn Mandabach Productions and a multi-award winning TV producer whose ground-breaking US hits include Nurse Jackie, Roseanne, Third Rock From The Sun and That 70s Show. Now residing in the UK, Caryn is the owner and executive producer of BAFTA award-winning drama Peaky Blinders.

James Burstall is CEO at Argonon, overseeing production companies in the UK and the US, including the Masked Singer’s UK producers Bandicoot, Barefaced TV, Windfall Films, Like A Shot, BriteSpark Films and Leopard Pictures. He is also CEO at Leopard USA, and he has had credits on shows ranging from Mormon Love on Facebook to hit franchise House Hunters International.

Aled Evans is a Senior Research Analyst at Omdia, who specialises in advertising, content production and channels & programming across international markets. He worked previously in UK broadcast media production as a senior producer with roles across leading TV broadcasters and content production groups.
