Talkback hires Tiger Aspect’s Edmunds

Fremantle-owned Talkback has appointed Kate Edmunds, director of development at Tiger Aspect, as its director of programmes.

Kate Edmunds

Kate Edmunds will oversee comedy and entertainment projects at the UK-based firm, having previously worked at Talkback as an executive producer on Dave show Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier.

The exec joins the Talkback creative leadership team alongside creative director Laura Gibson, director of development Charlie Bennett and head of factual entertainment Ceri Jones.

Edmunds’ other credits include The Last Leg, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

Talkback recently produced the Netflix show Too Hot to Handle, plus Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow and Harry’s Heroes for ITV.

Talkback MD Jonno Richards said: “Having the brilliant Kate on the Talkback team puts us in great stead for the future. Her considerable expertise will help us create and deliver more funny, exciting and relevant shows.”

It’s the second major hire at a Fremantle company this week, following Naked’s poaching of Channel 4 factual commissioner Fatima Salaria as its new MD.
