Fremantle takes Israeli dating format to global market

UK-based production and distribution firm Fremantle is bringing a new dating format to the global market, created by its Israeli label Abot Hameiri and local broadcaster Reshet.

Find Me Somebody To Love has already premiered on Reshet 13 in Israel and was the highest rated show of the week for the channel.

The format sees four single women put their lives and careers on hold, say goodbye to friends and family and delete their dating apps as they move into an apartment together for a whole month. The women’s goal is to find true love as they choose potential partners from a database which has been carefully put together by psychologists and dating experts.

Once they make their choice, their potential partner moves into the apartment with them for three days, offering an intense ‘getting to know you’ period where couples are together 24/7 and have more time to learn about the other person.

The experts also set challenges and dates for the couples over the three days, to help them to get to know each other better, while the other women in the apartment offer emotional support and advice.

At the end of the three days, the women decide whether they want their partners to stay for another three days or if they’d like to meet a new match.

Find Me Somebody To Love has a journey that every viewer can relate to and learn from,” said Guy Hameiri, CEO of Abot Hameiri: It’s a real experiment and a very honest and emotional format, and we are delighted with its brilliant launch on Reshet.”

Ami Glam, VP and head of content at Reshet, added: “We are very proud of both the impressive launch and the great reviews of Find Me Somebody To Love.

Together with Abot Hameiri we were able to develop and create a new storytelling of searching for love on TV. In a market of many dating shows we are confident that we have found a unique voice that can fit a broadcaster anywhere”

This is the latest dating format from Fremantle, who are behind other hit shows, such as Too Hot To Handle, Take Me Out and Farmer Wants A Wife.
