AMC expands horror streamer Shudder into Australia & New Zealand

Creepshow

AMC Networks is launching its horror-focused streaming service Shudder into Australia and New Zealand.

The SVOD, which focuses on horror, thriller and supernatural programming, will offer hundreds of hours of series including originals such as Creepshow and Cursed Films.

Other recent Shudder originals including Zoom-based Host, which was shot during lockdown, will also be available to viewers down under, along with eco-horror The Beach House, Blood Machines and Random Acts Of Violence. The slate will also include Belzebuth, Deadtectives, the Hell House LLC Trilogy, Mayhem, The Night Shifter and Tigers Are Not Afraid.

The service costs A$5.83 ($4.19) and NZ$6.67 ($4.35) and is available across the web, iOS, Apple TV, Android and Android TV, and also FireTV in Australia.

The launch means Shudder is now available in seven countries, including the US, Canada, Germany, the UK and Ireland.

Craig Engler, Shudder’s general manager, said the service would offer an “unrivaled collection of curated horror and supernatural movies” that reflected AMC’s “commitment to offer premium genre entertainment to a global audience.”
