Amazon extends Spanish thriller ‘La Jauria’ and ‘The Boys’

Amazon Prime Video has ordered a second season of Spanish-language psychological thriller La Jauria.

The first run of the Fremantle and Fabula-produced series aired earlier this month for audiences across Latin America and Spain. It followed the investigation into the disappearance of a young girl at a Catholic school that uncovers a disturbing and deadly online game.

The series stars Daniela Vega (A Fantasic Woman) and Antonia Zegers (Fugitivos) and is directed by Lucía Puenzo (XXY). Fremantle’s Christian Vesper, Fabula’s Juan de Dios and Pablo Larraín, Ángela Poblete and Mariane Hartard executive produce the series. Fremantle handles the global distribution.

“We are extremely proud of La Jauria. In the current political climate and the ongoing fight for justice and gender equality internationally, the first season is more relevant than ever. This was evident in the tremendous response it received before it had even launched on Amazon Prime Video in Latin America and Spain,” said Vesper, EVP creative director of global drama at Fremantle.

“The second season builds on both the thriller aspects of the first, while also exploring even bigger ideas about justice and gender politics. Lucia, the Larrain’s and the whole Fabula team are incredibly talented and we look forward to continuing our partnership on season two.”
